The Eagles legend will still be on your TV this fall. Just in a different way.

Jason Kelce is joining ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” — the network’s “Monday Night Football” pregame show — following his retirement from playing in the NFL, according to a report from The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand.

It was previously reported that Kelce was drawing interest from major networks, ESPN included. It comes as a surprise to exactly no one that he was in high demand.

While Philadelphia Eagles fans will certainly miss seeing Kelce on the field, it’ll still be nice to hear from him ahead of weekly primetime football games. There’s no doubt that Kelce will crush it as an analyst who brings valuable perspective and insight to the table. It’ll be especially enjoyable to hear from him ahead of an Eagles MNF game(s).

That being said, one can wonder if ESPN is maximizing Kelce’s talent and personality in this specific format. Part of what makes him so great is his full-force authenticity and candor. Is the fun dynamic he brings going to be watered down in the polished pregame panelist world? You’d think such an every-man might especially thrive in a more casual ManningCast kinda environment. But perhaps ESPN is waiting until Travis Kelce retires to launch something like that.

Regardless, no one in these parts is going to complain about more Jason Kelce in their lives. Congrats to him!
