Fans and pundits share thoughts on the Baltimore Ravens first round selection of the former ACC standout.

After watching all the top offensive tackles be taken before they were on the clock, the Baltimore Ravens addressed their second-biggest need with the selection of Clemson star cornerback Nate Wiggins with the No. 30 pick.

Once again, patience proved to be a virtue for general manager Eric DeCosta and the front office as they stood pat and let who many pundits had ranked as the best cornerback prospect in this year’s class fall right into their lap. Wiggins is one of the most explosive, fluid and instinctive cover corners in the draft whose Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 89.5 since 2022 ranks first among all ACC cornerbacks over such span.

It didn’t take long for the rave reviews to start pouring in from top pundits, current players and elated members of the Ravens Flock fanbase. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah called him “a pure cover corner” and compared him to retired two-time Pro Bowler Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Former Ravens quarterback and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III had an even loftier comparison for Wiggins, saying “reminds you of Deion Sanders with the feet, hips and fluidity to play ‘cover dat cat’ defense.”
