Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 4/23/24

The Los Angeles Rams still have their first round pick available at the time of this writing. That could change between now and draft day as we’ve seen Les Snead and LA make no shortage of moves with their draft picks. Should LA stay, move up or move down in the first round? Fair question. Which player should the Rams really be going after in the first round? Another fair question. What is LA’s best option? That will come down to who is available on draft day and what other teams are doing, but still a fair question!

Get ready because this week should be loaded with rumors, speculation, “facts” and “lies” and everything in between. We are now a couple/few days away from the NFL Draft, and I think I speak for every football fan when I say: Let’s get to it.

Please comment on whatever you’d like and have a great day!

NFL Draft 2024: Best options for the Los Angeles Rams with No. 19 pick (ramblinfan)

“With that no. 19 pick, the Rams could have a plethora of options to select from, many of which would be worthy of that selection. However, which players would be ideal if still available?

The Rams would be fortunate if one of these five players were available at no. 19 overall

Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

Maybe the biggest wildcard of the first round is Georgia tight end Brock Bowers. He very well could be a top-10 player in this class, but depending on how teams view needs versus talent, there’s a chance he could slip. If Bowers is there at no. 19, there should be no hesitation. The Rams’ offense getting another prolific weapon in the passing game would be far too great to pass up, especially with the team being able to save some money by moving on from Tyler Higbee in 2025.”

Schefter Links Rams to Bo Nix on NFL Draft Day 1 Amid Matthew Stafford Contract Buzz (bleacherreport)

“The direction they’ll go with that pick remains to be seen, though ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted that if the Rams choose to pick a successor for the 36-year-old Matthew Stafford, Bo Nix is a player to watch:

“[General manager Les] Snead was a graduate assistant coach at Auburn in 1993, when the school’s quarterback was Patrick Nix, Bo’s father. Patrick helped lead Auburn to an 11-0 record as a sophomore that season. Snead could go from watching one Nix make a mark on a team he was associated with early in his career to another Nix trying to make a mark on his team years later.”

2024 NFL draft trade value chart: How much are Rams’ 11 picks worth? (ramswire)

“The Los Angeles Rams are equipped with 11 picks in the 2024 NFL draft, with their top selection coming in Round 1 at No. 19 overall. Barring a trade back, they’ll make their first pick in Round 1 since taking Jared Goff back in 2016.

With general manager Les Snead, nothing can be ruled out – not even a trade out of the first round entirely. He’s one of the most willing GMs when it comes to making draft-day trades, frequently striking deals to move around the board, whether it’s going up to grab a prospect the Rams covet or trading down to accumulate picks.”

Rams 7-round NFL mock draft: Arguing for and against Dane Brugler’s picks (theathletic)

“The NFL Draft (finally) begins Thursday, and the Los Angeles Rams are on track to make their first opening-round pick since 2016. For now.

By now, you’re aware of the Rams’ top position needs and “what-if” scenarios. You’ve heard the buzz and seen the smokescreens, even if you don’t realize just how smoky they are until after the draft. So, what’s one more debate among friends? The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, our superhero draft analyst, released a seven-round mock draft a few days ago that is ripe for arguments for and against each pick.”
