Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/2/24

The topic on Matthew Stafford, his contact and whatever he wants from the Los Angeles Rams is a story. How serious of a story is it? I was hoping to hear from you! I have done a little information gathering (you can watch the videos below), and here’s where I am at. Stafford wants to play beyond this year and he wants more guarenteed money to make it worth his while.

How much money is enough? Does Stafford not already have enough? I don’t know but give the man and his agent credit. Stafford has made plenty of money according to Spotrac, but but unlike some dude at a bar who says, “Oh, I can throw a football for $100,000,000!” Stafford actually can and has proven he’s worth every penny.

Please let us know your thoughts, comment on whatever you’d like and have a great day! Thanks for checking out Turfshowtimes!

Rams QB Matthew Stafford seeking adjusted contract with more guaranteed money (nfl.com)

“Stafford, 36, is entering his 16th NFL season and fourth with the Rams, whom he captained to a Super Bowl victory in the 2021 season. Having signed a four-year, $160 million extension in the spring of 2022 following the team’s Super Bowl triumph, Stafford has three more seasons left on his contract, but just $31 million remaining in guaranteed salary this year and none over the final two seasons, per Over the Cap.

Stafford’s clearly looking for more security in his bank account before his guarantees run out.

Having never missed a game for the Detroit Lions from 2011 to 2018, Stafford’s still lauded for his toughness, but injuries have hampered him during the past two campaigns and led to him missing 10 games over that span.”

Rams News: Free Agent All-Pro Offensive Vet Considered Best Fit for LA (si.com)

“The Los Angeles Rams have demonstrated their strategic approach to player acquisitions, particularly in bolstering their offensive line. The team’s moves, such as signing guard Jonah Jackson from the Lions and re-signing guard Kevin Doston after a stellar 2023 season in L.A., reflect their commitment to maintaining a strong offensive front.

The Rams know the importance of keeping quarterback Matthew Stafford upright. While they’ve done an excellent job in ensuring that continues, CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr believes there’s one player out there who could help tremendously. Kerr views free agent All-Pro offensive tackle David Bakhtiari as a fit for the Rams.”
