The smoke has cleared and this is the 2024 competition

The question of who will be the Las Vegas Raiders’ starting question has hovered over the franchise all offseason.

And it’s still unanswered.

But we do know this —- it won’t be a highly-touted rookie. After months of speculated and countless hours of digging into the subject by the team, the Raiders did not draft a top-rated quarterback last weekend.

So, that turns us back to last year’s final starter, second-year player Aidan O’Connell and new free agent Gardner Minshew.

So, it will be either O’Connell or Minshew who leads the team into Week 1.

When the Raiders signed Minshew to a deal that equates to a low-level starter’s contract, the plan was that the team would have O’Connell, who started 10 games as a fourth-round pick in 2023, and Minshew compete in training cap and in the preseason if a top rookie wasn’t added. So, here we are.

It’s either O’Connell or Minshew to be determined in late August.

How you feeling?
