Tom Telesco’s last act as the general manager of the Los Angeles Chargers was was seeing the team get blasted 63-21 by the Las Vegas Raiders in December.

Telesco, along with Chargers’ head coach Brandon Staley, were fired the next morning. Now, Telesco will reportedly get an opportunity to make his case for his next NFL job — with the Raiders.

Telesco was the general manager of the Chargers for 10 years. He was known as a strong drafter, and he built a good roster, but the Chargers could never get it all together under Telesco and he struggled with coaching hires.

Telesco joins a long list of candidates to replace the fired Dave Ziegler. The Raiders have reportedly asked permission to talk to San Francisco 49ers executive Adam Peters, Indianapolis Colts’ front-office man Ed Dobbs, Trey Brown of the Cincinnati Bengals and Terrance Gray of Buffalo for the general manager position.

Raiders’ interim general manager Champ Kelly is also expected to be a strong candidate as well and there will likely be other candidates. Kelly is also a candidate in Carolina.

Dobbs was a candidate in Las Vegas two years ago when Ziegler was hired. He was an intern with the Raiders in 2003 and has ties with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh who was with the Raiders at the same time.

Harbaugh, of course, is considered a Raiders’ target at head coach.

Peters is well respected in the NFL and Washington has also reportedly asked to interview him as well. Brown, like Dobbs, interviewed with the Raiders two years ago.

Among the other teams with general manager openings are the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers.
