During the draft, the NFL’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, gave an interview in which he indicated that the league (owners) would like to move towards an 18-game season soon. This was followed by the predictable backlash from NFL players, both past and present. Years ago, the league brought up the idea of an 18-game season, which many dismissed as something that would never happen. Since then, the league has added one of the two extra games to the regular season schedule, bringing us 17 games a season. This is all part of the league’s (owners) desire to make the NFL as much of a year-round sport as possible. Even the draft has become a marathon three-day, over-the-top, fairly high-rated television event. I know that I have been sucked in and wind up watching large portions of the draft each year.

So tonight’s question is: As a fan, do you want to see the season expanded to 18 games, or do you think that there are already enough games or perhaps even too many? Assuming that you favor an additional game and the league pushes the players and their union for one more regular season game, what concessions should the league make to the players and the union? Lastly, do you think this will happen, or was Goodell just talking/throwing something against the wall to see how it came out and what the response would be?
