Pedri and Bellingham present the new PREDATOR ACCURACY

Pedri, Wendie Renard, Jude Bellingham or even Alessia Russo: here are the stars of football, male and female, who will wear the new and latest pair of adidas: the PREDATOR ACCURACY. Studs designed to optimize an attacker’s lethal weapon: “his incredible ability to score goals” . But not only. Indeed, the equipment manufacturer wanted to respond to requests from the general public and professionals to offer a pair combining control of the ball and optimal striking power.

Two new major ambassadors

“They are our favorite pair, our muse in a way. To design it, our inspiration came from scorers, midfielders but also decisive wingers. So we wanted to focus on the attacking sector. We were also inspired by the goalscoring mentality. What they (the players, editor’s note) look for the most in a pair is not only its dynamic fit, but also its lightness and comfort, while allowing them to have control of the ball.explains Mahsa Aryan, World Footwear Director for adidas Football, in an interview with us.

And in addition to unveiling its new edition of the almost 30-year-old range, the three-stripe brand also took the opportunity to present its two new major ambassadors, two signings coinciding with the end of the winter transfer window: midfielders Pedri (FC Barcelona ) and Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund). Two future greats of the round ball who come to succeed, in a way, the mythical duo Zinedine Zidane-David Beckham, muses of the Predator at the beginning of the 21st century having marked the market of crampons.

A light and comfortable pair

Regarding the aesthetics of this pair, the PREDATOR ACCURACY comes in a black color with pink details, in rubber – with the aim of optimizing the strikes of serial scorers – at the level of the outside of the foot, putting thereby embossing the striking surface. Inside, we find the famous three white stripes of the equipment manufacturer based in Herzogenaurach (Bavaria, Germany). The front of the shoe is adorned with this same flashy pink, a color that extends to the heel and the studs at the bottom of the shoe. As usual, there are two versions, with and without laces, in order to adapt to everyone’s tastes.

“For the design, we wanted first of all to meet the demands of the athlete, what he needs, and that’s why we highlighted the striking surface of the pair. We also had in mind the needs of the general public, because the latter obviously have different requirements compared to the Predator OG. We have also added details to this pair, especially on the inside of the foot »then added José Ángel Guijarro Muñoz, Senior Designer of the brand with the three stripes.

“The biggest change from the previous pair is the weight, especially at the top of the shoe. We have used HYBRIDTOUCH technology, which allows the pair to be more dynamic and thus adapts to the shape of the foot. There’s also that ‘striking zone’, as we call it, where rubber has been added to focus on the critical area for the goalscorer when in front of goal. We wanted to know the areas in contact with the ball during a shot and thus designate the optimal surface to add this additional material. The outside of the foot, meanwhile, is less in relief and therefore finer, because it is reserved for dribbling and the inside of the foot, for hitting the ball., concluded Mahsa Aryan.
