Oshane Ximines entered the NFL in the third round of the 2019 draft.

A former New York Giants linebacker has joined the 90-man roster in Foxborough.

Veteran free agent Oshane Ximines agreed to terms with the New England Patriots on Tuesday, the organization announced.

Ximines, 27, entered the NFL in the third round of the 2019 draft at No. 95 overall. The Old Dominion product, who twice earned All-Conference USA honors with the Monarchs, went on to appear in 48 games during his stay in the NFC East.

Over that span, Ximines made nine starts on the way to recording 71 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Added were six pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He handled 1,354 snaps on defense and 548 snaps on special teams while a member of the Giants.

The 2023 campaign began on the practice squad for Ximines after being released at the league’s 53-man roster deadline in August. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound edge defender was released from New York’s scout team in November following a trio of quarterback pressures and a trio of standard elevations.

The Patriots released veteran offensive tackle Conor McDermott on Monday, creating a second opening on the roster as the calendar turns to May.
