Omega stretchered out of Dynamite after The Elite’s latest assault

AEW’s X

AEW heavily promoted Kenny Omega’s return for the May 1 Dynamite in Winnipeg. Seeing the former World champ for the first time this year would have been noteworthy under any circumstances, but coming one week after the guys who kicked him out of The Elite took out Tony Khan… and just hours since The Young Bucks took control of the show in Khan’s absence.

The crowd was thrilled to see their fellow Winnipegger, but the mood quickly dampened when Omega started talking about his diverticulitis diagnosis. Kenny reminded us that doctors told him he was hours away from dying, and how either of the options they presented with could leave him with a colostomy bag or worse.

Kenny couldn’t watch AEW while he was out, as he’d get the shakes even thinking about wrestling. He thought he was going to have to tell us he was retiring. Then he watched Dynasty, and loved what he saw. He got the shakes again, but this time he realized it wasn’t fear — it was withdrawal! So while he’s knows the risks and isn’t sure what the odds are that he can come back, as long as there’s a 1% chance he promised us this isn’t over.

And the colostomy bag talk brought him to two other pieces of crap, The Bucks. He reminded them that he is also an EVP, so as long as Khan is out, he’ll have a say in what happens in AEW.

That brought out the man Matthew & Nicholas Jackson replaced Omega with in The Elite, his old New Japan rival Kazuchika Okada. Omega greeted Okada in Japanese, and said to give him a couple months and they could resume their epic feud in AEW. The Rainmaker responded that he’s The Best Bout Machine now. Scapegoat Jack Perry then struck from behind.

Despite what he said earlier (and reports that Omega wasn’t cleared to get physical tonight), Kenny put down Perry and nailed him with the Dragon Suplex. He immediately dropped in pain however, which opened the door for Jack to hit him in the midsection with a chair.

The Bucks were out next, feigning concern before hitting their old friend with an EVP Trigger. FTR ran in to chase them off so medics could put Kenny on a stretcher as Dynamite ended.

But when we came back for Rampage during AEW’s latest three hour show, The Elite were kicking Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler’s butts in the back. Then the Jacksons tipped over Omega’s strecher and left him writhing on the concrete floor.
