Notes: Lions Fan who trolled Packers friend at draft gets surprise from Kerby Joseph

on

Remember the Lions fan who trolled the Packers fan on draft night? Kerby Joseph ended up giving him an amazing gift.

One of the funniest moments from the 2024 NFL Draft weekend came on the first night when the Green Bay Packers were on the clock. Packers fans were hoping to add a safety like Cooper DeJean or an offensive lineman.

Green Bay did end up taking an offensive tackle, but they surprised a lot of fans by valuing Arizona’s Jordan Morgan over other players available like Tyler Guyton, Graham Barton.

Camera crews caught one stunned Packers fan, and a Lions fan who subsequently trolled him in a hilarious moment.

Jeanna Trotman of WXYZ Detroit (Channel 7) ended up tracking down the Lions fan who went viral on Thursday night to get his side of the story. His name is Kizito Katende, and that Packers fan turned out to be his friend.

“Literally all day he was talking about how he wanted Cooper DeJean and they didn’t end up getting him,” Katende said. “They got another guy, Jordan Morgan, and so I just had to laugh at him, because he was begging for that guy (DeJean) literally all day.”

That’s not the end of the story, though. Lions safety Kerby Joseph saw the moment live on television and wanted to reach out and give him some Lions swag:

It took less than a week for Joseph to get in touch with Katende, and… voila: game-used cleats and a signed Kerby Joseph card.

Here’s what the message inside said:

“Wassup bro!! you made me laugh draft night LOL So here is my cleats I caught my first and second career INT from AROD!!! Much Love… JKERB

Just one of many amazing stories to come out of draft weekend.

  • Speaking of draft weekend, safe to say ESPN’s Mina Kimes and Field Yates were fans of Detroit’s haul on Day 1 and 2.

  • Speaking of St. Brown, he used a little bit of that newly-found spending money to take a trip down south for the horsey races.

  • Some behind-the-scenes footage of the new uniform shoot:
