Nosaic of LIV Golf 2024 teams is completed

on

Now we are close to being official, but the lineups of the LIV Golf teams preparing for the inaugural event of the Saudi League season on El Camaleòn in Mayakoba are now complete.

The signing of Jon Rahm led to the creation of the Thirteenth Team, which acquired the final name “Legion XIII GC.” An immediate consequence was the need to balance the number of players on the pitch.

In Mayakoba, Mexico, we will see a total of 54 players take to the field, divided into 18 flights of 3 players each.

To reach this number, LIV executives had to work hard, but in the end they completed the puzzle.

LIV Golf Promotions announced the names of the three players who have obtained cards for 2024: Kalle Samooja, who signed with Team Cleeks GC, Jinichiro Kozuma, who joined Kevin Na’s Ironheads, and Keiran Vincent, recruited by Jon Rahm.

Liv Golf, schedule

Meanwhile, four new talents have joined the Saudi League through ongoing negotiations.

First up was Lucas Herbert, who teamed up with his compatriots from Team Ripper GC.

Next up was Caleb Surratt, an amateur player currently ranked tenth in the World Amateur Golf Ranking from the University of Tennessee, who will play in Legion XIII.

Last week, surprisingly, Adrian Meronk, winner of our Open last year, accepted the offer of the Cleeks, Martin Kaymer’s franchise.

Finally, the name that has caught everyone’s attention over the last couple of days: Tyrrell Hatton. Despite appearing to turn down LIV Golf’s £50 million offer, Hatton joined Legion XIII alongside his friend and fellow Ryder Cup player.

Two names are still missing to reach the total of 54 players. These will be independent players, participating only in the individual ranking. Their names may vary at different stages of LIV Golf, but in Mayakoba we should see Laurie Canter and Hudson Swafford.

I remind you that it is possible to follow LIV Golf tournaments via streaming on the YouTube channel or through the LIV GOLF+ application.
