AEW World champion Chris Jericho will defend the title against Jurassic Express member Jungle Boy at the December 18th episode of Dynamite from Corpus Christi, Texas.
The match was set up on tonight’s episode, when Jericho revealed he was contractually obligated to defend the title one last time in 2019 against an opponent of his choosing, then read off a list (he referred to it as a lexicon because it’s not 2016) of wrestlers he refuses to face. Names included were Jon Moxley, Cody Rhodes, Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Darby Allin, Hangman Page…as well as a slew of fictional characters and celebrities.
The Jurassic Express would then come out. After teasing that it would be Luchasaurus or Mark Stunt, Jungle Boy was the one who accepted Jericho’s challenge. This led to a brawl, and the match being made official.
