Mouratoglou praises Djokovic: “When he commands the rallies, he’s even stronger”

on

Patrick Mouratoglou, former coach of Serena Williams among others, talked about the 21-time Grand Slam title winner Novak Djokovic, praising his tennis.

The French coach explained: “Novak is the best tennis player in the world when it comes to defending and then counterattacking. Nole is an even better tennis player, however, when it comes to commanding exchanges as is happening here at the Australian Open.”

A tweet from the manager that generated several interactions and everyone agrees in supporting the Serbian champion as the best tennis player in the world.

Nole’s journey in this tournament has been almost immaculate and, apart from some minor concerns about physical problems, no one has really questioned the conditions of the Serbian talent.

Nole dominated almost all of his opponents, we saw his show of strength in the quarterfinals and now he starts as a huge favorite against the American Tommy Paul, a surprise who reached the semifinals of this Australian Open.

Now the Serbian is chasing his tenth victory here in Australia, a success that would allow him to catch up with his great rival Rafael Nadal at 22.

Djokovic reached the Australian Open 2023 final

Novak Djokovic after three complicated rounds, drives away the demons of the problem in his left thigh and secures the tenth final at the Australian Open in an extraordinarily orderly manner.

After de Minaur and Rublev, the Serbian champion gets rid of the revelation Tommy Paul with a very rocky 7-5 6-1 6-2. Even if in reality the first set is slightly conditioned by a small empty pass.

A little bad. The Serbian champion, among other things chasing the 10th title on the Melbourne Park hard-courts, takes absolute control of the matter and leaves the crumbs on the street thanks to a performance that was then poor in spots.

Together with the tenth final in the Slam down-under, of course, the Serbian equals Serena Williams in the ranking of the Major finals (33) and detaches Andre Agassi in the ranking of the most consecutive victories (26) in the Australian Slam. To find a defeat in Australia you have to even rewind the tape to five years ago.

On the opposite side of the net Stefanos Tsitsipas, who confirms himself as an absolute protagonist after a tournament. Similar situation to that of Flushing Meadows, with the first position in plain sight also for the Greek talent.
