McMullan Wins Jessie May Media Masters

on

Michael McMullan won the inaugural Jessie May Media Masters, beating Shane MacDermott in the final at Alexandra Palace.

The tournament was contested between journalists working behind the scenes at the Cazoo Masters and the entry fees raised £105 for WST’s official charity Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home.

In the single frame knockout event, broadcaster McMullan, who works for Eurosport and presents the WST Podcast, beat BBC 5 Live’s Jamie Broughton in the quarter-finals then saw off Master of Ceremonies Rob Walker in the semis. Lancaster & Crowther journalist MacDermott knocked out WST’s Alex Bullions before beating fellow scribe Hector Nunns.

Irishman McMullan then dominated the final to clinch the trophy.

Our thanks go to Chris Lovell from WPBSA for donating the trophy and giving access to the CueZone table at the London venue, and to Colin Poultney for the images.

Bristol-based charity Jessie May provides nursing care at home for children and young people with life limiting conditions who are not expected to live beyond the age of 19. To find out more visit jessiemay.org.uk
