LIVEBARN Race of the Week: Douglass Leads Loaded 100 Fly Field with NCAA-Record 48.46

In one of the most stacked NCAA races ever, Virginia senior Kate Douglass crushed the NCAA record with a 48.46 in the 100-yard butterfly on Friday night, edging reigning Olympic champion Maggie MacNeil (48.51) by just .05 seconds. Both reached the wall under Douglass’ previous NCAA, U.S. Open, and American mark of 48.84.
