Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage – KT vs LNG – October 27, 12:00 CET

Both KT and LNG were considered strong teams coming into Worlds. While they weren’t immediate title contenders, both squads have shown great potential and the chance of upsetting the top teams in the tournament.

On one hand, we have KT Rolster, who beat DK and WBG in the Bo1s. On the other, LNG have already played one Bo3 against JDG, following their wins against FNC and C9. Each team has shown clear strengths and weaknesses so let’s see what might happen in the series and who has the highest chance of winning this series.

The battle between ADCs

The main protagonists of this series will be the two ADCs Aiming and GALA. In particular, the KT bot laner has been the key carry of the team in the teamfights. An interesting thing about KT, however, is that they willingly give up advantages on the top and mid lane to help their ADC snowball the game. The numbers prove that: 35% damage share from Aiming in the first three games, with an 88.4% kill participation.

GALA, instead, is one of the two carries within the LNG lineup, with the other one being mid laner Scout. The two are the damage dealers of the squad, which gives them more options and flexibility during the draft.

While I think the two teams aren’t that far in terms of potential, I think there are two reasons why LNG is favored in this matchup. The first one, as previously mentioned, is LNG’s flexibility and ability to navigate through different team compositions, which is a great advantage in Bo3 series. The second reason is the fact that KT still hasn’t played a Bo3 series yet, which might be a disadvantage.

As always, the initial side selection in Game 1 will be important but I don’t see LNG dropping against KT, especially after what they showed against JDG.

Prediction: KT 1 – 2 LNG
