“I’m a fan.”
Kenny Omega knows he’s going to make some headlines every time he decides to fire up his stream on Twitch, because he’s always going to chat with his, well, chat, about shared interests. That includes, of course, what he does for his day job, professional wrestling.
To that end, he’s acknowledged Roman Reigns in the past. In a recent stream he once again made clear exactly how he feels about the crown jewel of the WWE roster:
“I really think he’s incredible and I don’t think he’s boring. I would say I’m pretty jealous because Roman Reigns is presented the exact same way I would love to be presented. He’s presented as the man who’s the Champion to have big matches at the pay-per-views where you’re either really cheering for him or cheering for someone else. That’s professional wrestling. He’s getting to do what I did in New Japan so I can’t be a hater on that. I’m a fan.”
It makes for a juicy headline, Omega saying he’s jealous of anything related to Reigns, but it isn’t a controversial statement in any way when you think about it. WWE has done a fantastic job of presenting Reigns as one of its biggest stars for years now, giving him a years long run with the top championship and making every match feel like a legitimately major event.
What wrestler wouldn’t want that?
