Jessica Korda, LPGA Moms on Tour program

Six-time LPGA winner Jessica Korda announced the joyous news of the birth of baby Greyson John Del Prete on February 5 via her social media accounts.

In May 2023, Jessica Korda announced an indefinite stop from competing due to back problems, and subsequently, in August 2023, she revealed her pregnancy.

Jessica Korda’s last victory dates back to 2021 at the Diamond Resorts Tournaments of Champions, after a play-off dispute with Danielle Kang. Her last participation dates back to May 2023 – shortly before the interruption was announced – at the Cognizant Founders Cup.

Now it’s time for Jessica and her husband Johnny to dedicate themselves to the baby, although it is likely that the fairways will soon call her back.

There are several active mom golfers on the LPGA Tour, including Team USA Captain Stacy Lewis, Azahara Munoz, Inbee Park and Cheyenne Woods.

In 2019, the LPGA established the ‘Moms on Tour’ program to allow female professionals to combine competitive activity with caring for their children. This program not only provides maternity leave, but also provides travel support services, care and education while the mother is competing.

The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played. They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the responsibility of the United States Golf Association. An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance. The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
