The WBC has been officially informed by undefeated WBC Super Flyweight Champion Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez of his decision to vacate his green and gold belt to move down and compete in a lighter weight class.
Jessie won the WBC title by shocking and defeating former Mexican world champion Carlos Cuadras, then made two successful defenses, spectacularly defeating former Thai champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Israel Gonzalez. All this in 2022.
It has been learned that the World Boxing Organization approved a fight between Bam Rodríguez (17-0, 11 KOs) and the Mexican Cristian ¨El Chicharito¨ González (15-1, 5 KOs) for the vacant flyweight title of the WBO.
