The former Eagles center could not be more excited for DeVonta Smith’s new contract.
A lot of people are celebrating DeVonta Smith’s new contract with the Eagles, including former teammate Jason Kelce.
Kelce and his brother, Travis, spoke about Smitty’s contract extension on their latest episode of New Heights, and Jason could not have been more excited for someone he called an outstanding young man.
Travis asked if Smith was an underrated part of the Eagles offense, and Jason was quick to explain that while he might get overlooked by outsiders, “he’s definitely not underrated by anyone on the team.”
Jason acknowledged that with Smith playing alongside A.J. Brown, “the best receiver in the NFL,” means he doesn’t always get the recognition he should, but among the organization, he is just as valued.
“The route-running ability of DeVonta Smith is insane to watch in person,” Kelce said. “This is the smoothest (MF) I know. Like he is just — it is insane the way he moves and gets out of breaks. The level at which he entered the NFL and how good he is. Silky smooth, on and off the field.”
Jason also complimented Smith’s game-day fashion, and said that the WR is one of the most mentally-tough players.
“This is a guy you want to play football with.”
