The Patriots brought Wallace aboard with the 68th overall pick in the draft.

The New England Patriots entered the draft with needs at quarterback, wide receiver and offensive tackle, and they addressed all of them within the first three rounds. The third and final of those picks was invested in Penn State offensive tackle Caedan Wallace.

The Patriots invested the 68th overall pick in Round 3 to bring the 24-year-old in.

3-68 OT Caedan Wallace (Penn State)

Bernd Buchmasser: The Patriots saw a handful of potential left tackle prospects come off the board before their pick, but they stayed put at No. 68 to pick a 40-game starter at right tackle. New England will likely give him a shot on the left, but it remains to be seen whether or not he can ultimately fill the need the team has at the position. | C+

Brian Hines: Wallace is an experienced tackle with 40 career starts at right tackle for Penn State. He comes with the size (6’4”, 34” arms) and technique needed to stay outside at the next level. The Patriots believe he can flip over to the left side due to his athletic traits, but time will tell how that process unfolds. | B-

With Wallace added to the mix, the Patriots are potentially looking at a left tackle competition between him and free agency pickup Chukwuma Okorafor. They also have Calvin Anderson and Conor McDermott to possibly man the position.
