Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett – Finger

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett will have surgery on his broken finger and could be back as early as Week 17, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. According to the Seahawks team website, Lockett received a “very optimistic review” from team doctors that would suggest Lockett has a chance to return quickly. According to our injury data, more than 75% of all players with fractured or broken finger injuries return to play within three games of the initial diagnosis.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill – Ankle

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was carted off against the Los Angeles Chargers with an ankle injury but eventually returned to finish the game. According to head coach Mike Vrabel, Tannehill will start next week against the Houston Texans if he is healthy enough, per Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt.

Tannehill previously played through an ankle sprain in Week 7 of this year before sitting out in Weeks 8 and 9. This was apparently a re-aggravation of that same injury.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor – Ankle [Season]

Indianapolis Cots running back Jonathan Taylor was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain after Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Taylor is expected to be shut down for the rest of the season.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch – Shoulder

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch suffered a right shoulder stinger in Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that this is unrelated to a neck injury suffered a few years ago.

Concussions

The following players left their respective games with concussion symptoms and enter the league protocol:

  • Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse
  • Cleveland Browns defensive end Jadeveon Clowney
  • Chicago Bears wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown
  • Tennessee Titans safety Josh Thompson
  • Arizona Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy
  • San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward

Based on our current data, more than half of players miss at least one game once diagnosed with a concussion. However, just under 75% of players return from concussion protocol after one week.
