Half of Bears fans believe they’ll trade back from 9

This week’s SB Nation Reacts results are in, and Bears fans think a trade is coming.

Many Chicago Bears fans, including me, are holding out hope for a Caleb Williams-Rome Odunze 1-2 punch with their first two picks, but it may be in the Bears’ best interests to move back from nine even if Odunze is there. If they can drop back a few spots and pick up a day-two pick, they could still come away with a blue-chip prospect while adding another potential early contributor.

This could be why 51% of our Reacts voters expect the Bears to trade down from nine overall.

Then again, some may have voted that way because they expect Odunze to be off the board when the Bears are on the clock. If he’s gone, the Bears should be able to trade back and still land one of their top defensive linemen on the board.

Their top defensive lineman could be Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II, who has had a lot of smoke around his name this week. If he’s the target, they may need to stick and pick at nine.
