Forcing themselves to fall in love with a quarterback led them to this position. And, remember, no team at the top of the 2021 draft, where three signal-callers were taken with the top three picks, is particularly thrilled with how that exercise went. This year, there wasn’t even an option to get into the top three, if you believe the narrative that New England firmed up its decision more than a month ago but kept up the appearance of an interested seller in the meantime. Deciding to be patient, while also winning more games in the interim, will get them out. The space between will be more palatable, and the Giants will be one step closer to waking up one day not wondering who their quarterback will be over the next four years.

Giants could draft this elite QB in 2025 to replace Daniel Jones — unless they sign Cowboys’ Dak Prescott | NJ.com
Daniel Jones is somehow back for Year 6 as the Giants’ unquestioned starting quarterback — at least for now.
Giants general manager Joe Schoen tried hard to replace Jones in the 2024 NFL Draft, by trading up for Drake Maye. But the Patriots stayed at No. 3 and took Maye. And Schoen didn’t take a quarterback at all in this year’s draft.

Jones has already compared his approach to how running back Saquon Barkley handled last season. Barkley played on the franchise tag and tried not to think of his future, instead concentrating on what he could do to get better.
Barkley’s time in New York ended in March. If Jones doesn’t have the best season of his career, he’s likely to follow in Barkley’s footsteps.
Daniel Jeremiah adds to Drew Lock chatter
Theres more smoke around Drew Lock being #Giants starting QB over Daniel Jones, after #Seahawks GM Jon Schneider’s comments earlier @MoveTheSticks said on his own podcast: ‘I believe Drew Lock has a really good shot of winning that job.’

New York Giants A-. PFF’s top-ranked safety prospect, Tyler Nubin is versatile and impactful. He can be moved all over the secondary and handle the role, as he possesses a high-level football IQ and can stop the run with instincts to cover on the back end. Nubin sported a career-best 90.1 coverage grade in 2023 (first among Power Five safeties) and allowed a 33.0 passer rating in coverage from 2021 to 2023.
