A sensational news, which arrived a few hours after his semi-final at the Mutua Madrid Open. Felix Auger Aliassime, who is playing a great tournament in Spain (in a very disappointing season, so far) announced the end of his professional relationship with Toni Nadal official.

Felix, who has fallen beyond 30th position in the ATP ranking, analyzed what led him to end his collaboration with Rafael Nadal’s uncle, also announcing his new coach.

“My coach, Frédéric Fontang, has been here since the start of the tournament, and with him my physiotherapist and a dear friend of mine, while Toni is at home. We are still in contact with Toni, but he is currently no longer an active part of my team. But he’s always been a good voice, a good way to add someone from the outside who has experience and can give me useful advice on my game,” he explained.

Felix announced a new member of his team

Auger Aliassime then announced a new addition to his team: “My father is traveling with us very often and this makes me very happy. He has always been close to me this year. In the indoors events he was with me, in Monte Carlo and in Monaco the same.

So my father has been very helpful to me, and he will be there at the French Open. It’s also the reason I play tennis. family always gives you a little extra strength. Having him close to me on a daily basis and being able to talk to him on a daily basis is certainly very important to me,” he added.

The semifinal of the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid against Jiri Lehecka will also be the opportunity to reach the first final in a 1000 tournament.

“With experience I have learned that playing on this surface is not that different from the others. I used to play very aggressively, but I stayed too far from the court. Now I play closer, like on hard court, and I feel better. I understood that I just have to be more patient, also based on the opponent I face and the playing conditions,” he analyzed.
