Eli Drake Says Latest Episode Of Powerrr Was Planned, Had Nothing To Do With Cornette’s Resignation

NWA star Eli Drake issued a short statement on his Twitter page to address yesterday’s episode of Powerrr, which was a change of pace from the studio wrestling’s typical format, and served as a clip/interview show to build for the upcoming Into The Fire pay per view. Drake states that the program was always scheduled to air that way, and had nothing to do with commentator Jim Cornette’s resignation from the company. Drake writes:

I’ve noticed a lot of people under the impression last night’s show was formatted as it was because of the departure of Cornette. It wasn’t. Episode 8 was filmed/planned that way from the start. It was coincidental timing. It would have aired the same regardless.

Drake goes on to explain that his portion of the episode was filmed while in Los Angeles because it was easier for his schedule.

Also planned that way. The tapings in Atlanta were jam-packed, so It was easier to shoot my portion while billy would be on the west coast for his solo tour since that’s where I live. Now that everybody knows how the sausage is made.
