NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah has been pretty consistent in his mock drafts and speculation of projecting Brock Bowers to the Colts this draft season.

According to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, the Indianapolis Colts will select Georgia tight end Brock Bowers in his final 2024 NFL Mock Draft:

Pick 15

Indianapolis Colts

Brock Bowers

Georgia · TE · Junior

The Colts are another team that’s had talks about trading up. I won’t be shocked if they end up with Bowers. Keep an eye on Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell as another potential fit here.

The 6’3, 243 pound Bowers caught 56 receptions for 714 receiving yards (12.8 yards perreception average) and six touchdown receptions during 10 starts in 2023—earning unanimous All-American First-Team honors and the John Mackey Award, given to college football’s most outstanding tight end (*the latter for a consecutive season).

Bowers is regarded as one of the best tight end prospects to come out in recent memory, and he’s the modern-day prototypical ‘move’ tight end. With his receiving versatility, Bowers can be a dynamic weapon with his ability to catch passes in the flats, slot, on screens, etc. as the ultimate ‘yards-after-catch’ machine. However, he also is explosive down the seam.

An elite tight end is often regarded as a young quarterback’s best friend, and Bowers has already drawn pro comparisons to San Francisco 49ers’ All-Pro George Kittle, as well as former Colts franchise great Dallas Clark.

From that standpoint, it would be hard to be upset with this pick, especially given all the wrinkles that Colts head coach Shane Steichen could utilize Bowers within his play-calling.

The one criticism here could be that cornerback is arguably a bigger immediate need, as the Colts do have Jelani Woods returning from season-ending hamstring injuries—and maybe wide receiver too, where Alec Pierce has been a bit too inconsistent on the outside.

However, Bowers could aid Richardson’s continued development and provide the Colts with an explosive, versatile playmaker, who could help take this offense to the next level.
