History:
Cooper Beebe has the bloodlines of a great football player. His father and brother played tight end for Pittsburgh and Minnesota respectively. And Cooper’s younger brother joined Kansas State in 2023 as an offensive lineman. Cooper would join Kansas State in 2019 and was redshirted after playing only 24 snaps.

In his sophomore year, Beebe would play in nine games and start in eight. The team started him at right tackle and he played 463 snaps. He allowed 11 pressures and three sacks.

In 2021, he started in all 13 games playing left tackle for Kansas State. He played 759 snaps and allowed only 10 pressures and zero sacks. It was an outstanding performance.

In 2022, Beebe started all 14 games for the Wildcats, this time at left guard. On 940 snaps he allowed only nine pressures and zero sacks again. He earned All-American honors as well as Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.

In his senior year, Beebe continued his dominance at left guard, although he started the season for two games at right tackle. On 942 snaps he allowed nine pressures and two sacks. His first sack came in Week 3, and it was his first sack allowed since Week 10 of the 2020 season. He was again given All-American honors and again named Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. After five years of playing at Kansas State, he left allowing only five sacks in five seasons.

Speed- 91
Acceleration- 81
Agility- 88
Strength- 78
Pass Blocking- 89
Run Blocking- 79
Discipline- 93

THE GOOD:

  • Is extremely experienced and versatile playing three of the five line positions at a high level
  • His understanding of defensive alignment and high football IQ is very apparent
  • Shows good anchor to hold against bull rushes
  • Very good upper body strength to shift defenders at ease
  • Gets up into defenders effectively to create huge running lanes
  • Good mirroring to stay engaged to defenders

THE BAD:

  • Arm length is a huge concern. That limits where he can play in the NFL
  • Range can become an issue in pass protection
  • Snap reaction time can be slow
  • Lateral speed can be a tick slow
  • Foot speed is also in need of coaching

THE FIT:
Cooper Beebe is an extremely high-motor, blue-collar offensive linemen that absolutely fits the bill as a mauler. His size and sturdy base completely shuts off bull rushers and his ability to recognize defensive alignment and dissect the play pre-snap is a huge plus for him.

His issues come with reactions mostly. In the run game, faster defenders are able to avoid Beebe and get around quickly while he tries to react and move himself into position. His foot speed is also slow meaning he can get caught lunging as he tries to engage his hands early and this allows defenders to slip his block. Failing to make contact is a huge coaching correction for him entering the NFL as he cannot recover fast enough or loses his technique the moment he fails.

Overall, Beebe is an extremely versatile lineman with huge value. Grabbing him near the end of the second round is best value, but he immediately competes for a starting role and fans should expect him to be starting on Week 1.
