Fans have expectations for Oregon guard

We’re still in draft-chatter mode in our Las Vegas Raiders Tuesday Community Questions.

This week, we asked our community members what 2024 Raiders’ draft pick will make the biggest immediate impact this upcoming season.

To recap, here are the Raiders’ 8-player 2024 draft class:

  • Georgia tight end Brock Bowers
  • Oregon guard Jackson Powers-Johnson
  • Maryland tackle DJ Glaze
  • Mississippi State cornerback Decamerion Richardson
  • Ohio State linebacker Tommy Eichenberg.
  • New Hampshire running back Dylan Laube.
  • Air Force safety Trey Taylor.
  • Pittsburgh cornerback MJ Devonshire.

It’s a solid class for now and the future. I expect Powers-Johnson to have the biggest immediate impact, do I think he can step right in and be a dominant guard in the league. It seems like I’m not alone.

Gallow beat me to it. Bowers is a very nice piece, but I think it’ll be JPJ if he can dominate at the next level. We already had a lot of talented movable objects. If we can shore up the immovable objects, that’ll provide the biggest impact overall IMO

The amount of impact Bowers makes will depend on how much attn he can demand. The more attn he demamds the more that will open up things for Davante and the running game. Adams one on one, not being dbl’d most of the game would be huge. LB’ers playing a few steps back because of the threat of Bowers would be huge.
