The Colts have added a versatile interior o-lineman who may be their long-term starting center as soon as 2025.

The Indianapolis Colts have selected Wisconsin versatile interior offensive lineman Tanor Bortolini with the 117th pick in the 4th round of the 2024 NFL Draft:

The 6’4,” 303 pound interior offensive lineman has experience at both the center and guard spots—and even made some spot starts at right tackle for the Badgers, having made 22 total career collegiate starts (although he made all 12 of his starts at center last year).

He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors last year and was Academic All-Big Ten.

Bortolini has a RAS of 9.77 out of a maximum 10.0 and was NFL Next Gen Stats’ most athletic center in this year’s draft class:

Having just selected Pitt offensive lineman Matt Goncalves in the third round, the Colts are clearly looking to fortify their offensive line depth for this upcoming season. Both of these mid-round offensive lineman could be projected starters as soon as 2025 too—as both starting right guard Will Fries and center Ryan Kelly are set to become free agents then.

Wisconsin offensive lineman are generally regarded as savvy technicians with some classic Midwest toughness and experience in zone blocking, so Bortolini should fit right in at Indy.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see him make some spot starts even this upcoming season (especially with Kelly’s recent concussion issues), and it’s possible the Colts may have found their long-term starting center beginning in 2025.
