A new era begins in Chicago!
That didn’t take long. The Chicago Bears have announced that Caleb Williams, their brand-new quarterback, will don jersey number 18 for the Navy and Orange.

Williams wore 18 while at Gonzaga College High School but 13 during his college years at Oklahoma and USC.
While on the red carpet before the draft, he was asked about wearing number 13 as a professional, and he played it coy, saying, “If it’s the Bears…” that there’s a future Hall of Famer there currently wearing number 13 (Keenan Allen), “So that might be tough.”
The last Bear to wear 18 was tight end Robert Tonyan during the 2023 season, and the two most successful quarterbacks to wear the number were Kyle Orton and Mike Tiomczak.
