The Scottish Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour will be a new route to join the Challenge Tour. However, it will only offer one place for the 2024 season in the second European division.
After 20 years of existence, the EuroPro Tour Golf closed last fall when it offered five spots at the end of its season for the Challenge Tour. He therefore had to find solutions.

The European second tier therefore turned to the Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour, a Scottish circuit created by the winner of The Open 1999, Paul Lawrie, during the start of the pandemic. At the end of the 2023 season, the winner of the order of merit will be offered a full category on the Challenge Tour. Three invitations to the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge Tour (August 10-13 at Newmachar Golf Club) will also be offered during the season.
The 2023 Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour season will feature 13 dates played over three rounds (cut after 36 holes). The calendar will begin May 1-3 at the Barassie Links and end September 25-27 at the legendary Gleneagles course, host of the 2014 Ryder Cup. Players will notably visit two courses in St Andrews, the Fairmont (where played in several DP World Tour tournaments) and the Jubilee Course.
The Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour will hand out around £350,000 (€400,000). It is open to professional men and women, but also to the amateur elite.
The Challenge Tour is a European professional men’s golf circuit which acts as the 2nd European division, behind the European PGA Tour.
This circuit was created in 1986 and was named Satellite Tour. The top fifteen in the season standings qualify for the following year’s PGA European Tour. Some tournaments are played outside of Europe. In addition, the player who wins three tournaments during the same season automatically passes to the European tour for the current season and keeps his card on this circuit for the following season.
The lower circuits are the Alps Tour, EPD Tour and PGA EuroPro Tour. Each season, the top five from each circuit qualify for the Challenge Tour.
