World No 3 Casper Ruud admits his tennis may not be the flashiest or the most beautiful out there but he is happy that he is very consistent and doing well.
Ruud, 23, made his first two Grand Slams in 2022, finishing as runner-up to Rafael Nadal in the French Open final and Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open final, respectively.
Also, Ruud captured three titles in 2022 and achieved a career-high ranking of No 2 in the world.
Over the last two years, Ruud has established himself as one of the most consistent players in the game.
On Sunday, Ruud defeated world No 1 Alcaraz 6-1 6-4
“My tennis isn’t the most powerful, flashy or beautiful, but my goal is to stay consistent and solid. One of my role models is Bautista Agut. He showed me the way that if you are solid throughout the year good things can happen,” Ruud said, per Jose Morgado.

Ruud has delayed his offseason
After concluding his run at the ATP Finals, Ruud didn’t have time to rest since he had a scheduled Latin America Tour with Rafael Nadal.
This past weekend, Ruud competed at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
Now, Ruud reveals he plans to have his offseason after the Australian Open.
“When I accepted to do the exhos with Rafa we decided to just keep going and then stop and work on my tennis after the Australian Open,” Ruud revealed.

So AO 2023 is like still 2022 for Casper.

In 10 days, Ruud will be representing Norway at the inaugural United Cup in Australia.
After the United Cup, Ruud will fly to New Zealand for the ASB Classic in Auckland.
Then, Ruud will fly back to Australia for the Australian Open, where he will be hoping to win his first Grand Slam title.
In 2022, Ruud didn’t compete at the Australian Open after he sustained an injury just a day before the start of the tournament.
It remains to be seen how will Ruud at the start of the new season.
