Call of Duty 2024 Could Still Come To Game Pass

on

In the months since the Microsoft x Activision Blizzard acquisition was closed, COD fans worldwide have been wondering one thing: ‘Is COD 2024 coming to Game Pass?’ It hasn’t been explicitly confirmed by Microsoft or Activision Blizzard, and the consensus was that it wouldn’t be arriving on Game Pass just yet. However, thanks to recent comments made during an interview by the recently appointed Xbox president, it seems Call of Duty might wind up on Game Pass after all.

Recently, Microsoft has found itself in hot water after shutting down four studios under the Bethesda banner. In a dramatic sweep, Microsoft laid waste to the likes of Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, Roundhouse, and Arkane Austin, which sent the industry reeling. To save face, Sarah Bond, the president of Xbox, appeared in an interview attempting to placate the masses and reassure fans that things are all okay at Team Green.

Will Call of Duty 2024 Be on Game Pass?

In a recent interview during a Bloomberg technology showcase, Sarah Bond spoke about the future of Xbox. She touched on the Game Pass subscription service, a popular platform that offers users a library of games that they can (mostly) access anywhere. She also mentioned that an Xbox mobile gaming store is coming in July.

Call of Duty fans were most interested in the comments Bond made about the future of Game Pass. She stressed that subscribers are going to ‘get every single one of our games we build day one in Game Pass’ and then said the following:

‘The quality and the breadth of those games has only been going up over time, and you’re going to some more really big games going into Game Pass this year.’

She didn’t say specifically what those big games are, but it’s widely assumed that she’s referring to Call of Duty. Of course, the delivery of such top-tier titles into the service means that costs are surely set to rise, which is reportedly something that Microsoft is considering.

If Call of Duty 2024 doesn’t wind up on Game Pass, it’s only a matter of time before other games in the series do. There’s not much stopping Activision Blizzard from listing a library of classic Call of Duty games for fans to enjoy, and most of the older games still have their multiplayer servers switched on, so it’s a win-win all around.
