Browns vs Texans: Houston gets positive injury news for Sunday, Week 17

Nico Collins IN for today, CJ Stroud likely back next week

The outcome of the Week 16 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans could have huge implications for both team’s playoff hopes. A Browns win almost, but not quite, clinches a playoff spot and a chance to compete for the AFC North or the top Wild Card seed.

A Texans win pulls the two teams even at 9-6 along with the Buffalo Bills. The Indianapolis Colts could join that trio with a victory as well.

Injuries will impact both teams on the field today with CJ Stroud, Will Anderson, Blake Cashman, Juan Thornhill and Anthony Walker already ruled out.

There are four players listed as questionable this week as well:

  • WR Nico Collins
  • DT Maliek Collins
  • LB Denzel Perryman
  • OL Joel Bitonio

While Browns fans are hoping that Bitonio will be able to play after missing most of Week 15’s game, the Texans are likely to get one (or both) of their Collins players today:

In his third season, Collins has already eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving this season to go along with six touchdowns. He missed Houston’s last game due to a calf injury.

Given the tight AFC playoff race, Houston needs to get Stroud back from his concussion as soon as possible and that seems to be on track for Week 17:

We will get official inactive reports from both teams to get the final updates on the four questionable players and who else won’t be dressing for this week.

Does Nico Collins likely being active worry you or, with Case Keenum at QB, are you less worried about the passing game today?
