Dustin Hopkins and Corey Bojorquez solidified the group in 2023

Since the Cleveland Browns moved on from kicker Phil Dawson the team has struggled to find stability on special teams. Long snapper Charley Hughlett has been a mainstay but the kicker and punter positions have turned over regularly.

The same is true for kick and punt returners since Josh Cribbs left the team but, for 2024, those returners will come from either the offensive or defensive depth charts that we’ve already shared. The new kickoff rule could make RB Nyheim Hines a steal of a free-agent addition.

While the new kickoff process will be interesting to watch, the kicker’s primary job is still to make field goals and extra points. Last year, the Browns found stability at the position, along with punter, to join Hughlett.

They’ve also brought back a draft pick that just didn’t work out the first time.

Here is a look at the five special teams-only players on Cleveland’s 90-man roster including three kickers:

(Listed based on how they are labeled on the team’s roster page or predraft positions)

Kickers – 3

  • Dustin Hopkins
  • Cade York
  • Lucas Havrisik

Punter – 1

  • Corey Bojorquez

Long Snapper – 1

  • Charlie Hughlett

Are you surprised that the team is carrying three kickers but only one punter?
