Jaylen Wright, Erick All lead a surprisingly quality finish to the Browns 2024 NFL draft… based on this mock draft

Months and months of preparation, profiles, thought pieces and energy have been put into getting ready for the 2024 NFL draft. Teams, fans and media engage with the draft as much or more than they do actual games in the regular season. While the NFL draft might be losing some importance for a variety of reasons, it is still a top-level priority.

Sometime Saturday night, the 2024 version of the draft will be in the rearview mirror.

For the Cleveland Browns, after drafting DT Michael Hall Jr. and OL Zak Zinter, Day 3 of the draft includes four selections. Day 3 of the draft can bring some surprising steals. Browns GM Andrew Berry struck gold last year with OL Dawand Jones, saw glimpses from CB Cam Mitchell and got solid production from WR Donovan Peoples-Jones before trading him away.

Who could join that group for Cleveland this year? As we did for Day 2 of the draft, where we accurately predicted the selection of Hall, we are using Pro Football Network’s simulator for our Browns Day 3 Mock Draft:

Round 5

RB Jaylen Wright, Tennessee

Wright is an athletic back with top-end speed and good hands in the passing game. A deep running back class, and some concerns about Wright needing to develop his block recognition and reaction, have him falling here where Cleveland gets a potential starter for 2025.

Round 6

TE Erick All, Iowa

The 6’4” Ohio native played four years at Michigan before transferring to Iowa. With neither team throwing the ball much, All didn’t put up much production but was a Wolverines team captain. Injuries, including a torn ACL in the middle of 2023 and a back injury in 2022, are concerning but in the sixth round, the Browns add a potential weapon to go with David Njoku.

Round 7

OT Tylan Grable, UCF

A 6’6” athlete, Grable has a ton of experience at left tackle but can slide inside to guard with his physical gifts. A developmental player who is already 24, Cleveland takes a chance that he could help provide depth on his rookie contract at a minimum. With the new kickoff rules, linemen will become even more important.

CB Ja’quan Sheppard, Maryland

What is an Andrew Berry draft without a cornerback? (Technically the answer is 2020, his first.) The 6’2” corner spent time at Cincinnati before joining Maryland last year where he was Honorable Mention All-Big Ten. Sheppard had eight pass breakups last season.
