At last, Cleveland gets a first-round pick back in 2025.

Each week during the regular season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team. During the offseason, we also send out questions every now and then about other big events, such as the 2024 NFL Draft.

Even though the Browns did not have a first-round pick this year, 66% of fans think GM Andrew Berry was a winner for his draft class this year. It’s still hard to get too excited about a draft class with the lack of high-level picks that he had in his arsenal, but I’m glad that the Browns opted not to make any trades. Instead, they preserved their capital for next season, and added some role plays who can help the defense (Michael Hall) and offense in case of an injury (Zak Zinter).

In our other poll, 70% of fans said it has been hard to get excited about the draft over the past three years without a first-round pick. Some users commented that they wish there was a third option because they still get stoked about the second-round forward, but I think the overall point still stands. I think of it from my perspective: the amount of preparation on Dawgs By Nature over the years in doing mock drafts for the first-round, speculating who the team’s top pick would be. The staff here still did an unbelievable job covering prospects available in the second round or later, but it’s still an entirely different level of excitement when you have a first-rounder.
