Brian Harman: Brooks Koepka would be a pretty good addition to the team

on

Brooks Koepka failed to secure his place at the Ryder Cup, as he missed his chance at the last moment. Wildcard pick is still an option for him, and Koepka hopes that he could make the team that way. Many reactions followed, with many believing that Koepka deserved his spot on the team. Brian Harman is one of those who believes that Koepka deserves his place on the team.

“You know, Brooks he’s right there. I think he would be a pretty good addition to the team.”- Herman said, as quoted by golfmonthly.com

Brian Harman is aware of how important Koepka’s experience can be in such competitions. In addition to the obvious quality, experience can be a decisive factor in the Ryder Cup.

“I’m not totally familiar with his record in Ryder Cups, but the experience would certainly help, especially considering there’s probably going to be a fair amount of rookies over there.”

Zach Johnson and his decisions

Johnson will have a difficult task to choose the best. Herman is not worried and expects Johnson to select the best players who will be of great help to the team at the Ryder Cup.

“In my opinion, the goal of the Ryder Cup is to win, so whoever Zach thinks that can help us win the Ryder Cup I think needs to be on the team.”

There was a lot of reaction to the fact that Koepka failed to secure a spot on the team through points. Scottie Scheffler is one of the golfers who was surprised. One tournament on the Tour would change a lot of things.

“Brooks? I mean, I looked at the points list the other night. He was about, like 300 or, I think he was 30 points shy? Which is, I think it was the equivalent of like $30,000 throughout the year. So if he played one tournament on Tour I think he probably would have been on the team.”
