The sequel to the Bloodline Civil War has begun.

Following WrestleMania XL and the devastation caused by Cyclone Cody, residents of the Island of Relevancy are once again in upheaval after SmackDown due to the actions of Solo Sikoa and the arrival of Tama Tonga, which have sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe and the once peaceful isle.

After Sikoa teamed up with the former New Japan Pro Wrestling star to wipe out Jimmy Uso, seemingly taking control of the Samoan dynasty, Sikoa squared off with Jimmy’s twin, Jey, in a dark match following the conclusion of SmackDown.

Sikoa arrived alone for the brotherly brawl. Once face-to-face, the two engaged in an intense staredown before the YEET-meister took control with a series of punches. From start to finish, this was not an exhibition of flashy moves or an attempt to win match of the year honors; it was a dogfight, bell-to-bell.

As Sikoa took over, he tried to beat his older brother ugly. Perhaps inspired by the venue they were in — Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena — Sikoa had extra cheese on his pizza, as he consistently took time to mimic and mock Jey’s signature poses while challenging spectators to step up to him as they loudly chanted, “Solo Sucks!”

Later, Jey came alive with a series of punches but was caught in a fireman’s carry as he attempted a spear. As he wiggled free and tried taking Sikoa down from behind, his little brother countered with a mule kick to Jey’s man bag.

After getting disqualified, Sikoa attempted to beat on Jey some more but wound up eating a pair of superkicks and a spear before scurrying off into the night.

Although these events post-SmackDown don’t guarantee an immediate feud between Jey Uso and the duo of Sikoa and Tama Tonga, it’s reasonable to believe that Jey will eventually align with his brother Jimmy to seek revenge. That raises the question of where Roman Reigns, The Rock, and newly acquired free agent Jacob Fatu will stand in this potential conflict.

Early indicators suggest that WWE may be positioning Roman Reigns for a heroic return as the leader of one-half of The Bloodline against The Rock’s dark half of the family faction. After WrestleMania XL, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque discussed Reigns’ future following his loss of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes.

“It’s not completing (Reigns’) story. It’s just getting to the end of this chapter,” said Levesque regarding Reigns’ future. “He’s going to go on a new story that is going to blow people’s minds and take it to a whole ‘nother level.”

Reigns’ new storyline seemed to begin on the first SmackDown after WrestleMania, where Sikoa and Tama Tonga appeared to stage a violent coup d’etat. In reality, The Tribal Chief’s next saga began as his previous tale was ending.

During Reigns’ title defense against Rhodes at WrestleMania, Sikoa, while running interference, was barking at Reigns, demanding he finish Rhodes for good. Sikoa’s aggressive behavior would’ve led one to believe he was Reigns’ superior. After the match, Sikoa was nowhere to be found. Off-camera, Reigns, and Heyman seemingly distanced themselves from Reigns’ cousin, The Rock, who has since positioned himself as a potential challenger for Rhodes’ Undisputed title.

Regardless of how things unfold, a power struggle is clearly brewing within wrestling’s most celebrated tribe. As a new era dawns in WWE, the previous regime led by Reigns and his kin remains dominant as a battle for control over the Island of Relevancy and the Samoan family lineage prepares to take hold.
