The Denver Broncos snagged their quarterback of the future with the twelfth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. They have one selection on Day 2 and need to find an impact player. Here are some of the best remaining prospects available.
After selecting Oregon signal caller Box Nix in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos filled their biggest need on the team. The second and third round of the draft kicks off tonight at 7:00 PM (EST) and the franchise is scheduled to pick at #76 overall in the early portion of the third.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Broncos found a way to move up and net themselves another Day 2 selection. The most reasonable solution is trading off some of their Day 3 pick arsenal, but they do have a mostly full slate of 2025 picks that could be used as well. As of now, the team has the following selections:
Third Round — #76
Fourth Round — #121
Fifth Round — #136
Fifth Round — #145
Fifth Round — #147
Sixth Round — #207
Seventh Round — #256
With respect to their 2025 pick stash, they lack their original fifth-round selection (Bradley Chubb trade) and seventh-round selection (Albert Okweugbunam trade) but have an extra sixth-round selection from the latter as well. In my opinion, their two top picks next year should absolutely be off limits—but scenarios do exist where giving up a third or a fourth might be reasonable if a highly-rated player falls this evening. Let’s take a look at some of the best available on a positional basis.

Running Back
University of Texas running back Jonathan Brooks and Florida State’s Trey Benson are widely considered the top two prospects available at the position. It’s unlikely either of them fall to Denver, but they certainly would merit consideration if available in the third-round.
One prospect to keep your eye on closely is Tennessee’s Jaylen Wright, he is an extremely athletic back with top-tier speed (4.38 40-yard dash) who the Broncos have done a lot of work on. MarShawn Lloyd, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Ray Davis, or Audric Estime could be considerations for them in the third round as well.
Wide Receiver
Adding to the wide receiver room wouldn’t be a surprise. I think there are a lot of great players available, despite seven being picked in the first-round. If the Broncos are looking at a prospect who can create after the catch, Western Kentucky’s Malachi Corley would be a great addition for the franchise.
It’s unlikely that Keon Coleman of Florida State, Ladd McConkey of Georgia, Troy Franklin of Oregon, or Adonai Mitchell of Texas are at #76, but if they fall perhaps the Broncos would have some interest. MIchigan’s Roman Wilson and UCF’s Javon Baker should be available when the Broncos pick.
One of my favorite things about WR Malachi Corley’s game is his appetite for blocking downfield.
Some guys just try to get in front of and “shield” off defenders, but Malachi Corley wants to destroy them.

Tight End
Ja’Tavion Sanders of Texas, Cade Stover of Ohio State, and Ben Sinnott of Kansas State should all find homes somewhere on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. I mocked Penn State’s Theo Johnson the Broncos in the fourth round, but pending the board, he could be a surprise pick for Denver. However, I feel that they would prefer to add to this position group on Day 3.
Offensive Line
Houston’s Patrick Paul Notre Dame’s Blake Fisher, Yale’s Kiran Amegadijie are my top three offensive tackles available. Though I highly doubt Paul slides that far and should go off the board early in round two. The interior line has a lot of good prospects like Kansas State’s Cooper Beebe, Connecticut’s Christian Haynes, and TCU’s Brandon Coleman. Keep an eye out on versatile Kansas Jayhawk OL Dominick Puni too.
I don’t think they are in the market for a center in round three, but Jackson Powers-Johnson is still on the board (but won’t be at #76), but perhaps Sedrick Van Pran-Granger or Zach Frazier becomes an option for the Broncos if they fall.
Defensive Line
This is the position group I’d like the Broncos to target on Day 2. Jer’Zhan Newton, Ruke Orhorhoro, Braden Fiske, Kris Jenkins, Michael Hall Jr., and T’Vondre Sweat would all fit needs for the Broncos in their defensive trenches. I’d be stoked if any of these guys would picked by Denver, though I have some concerns with Sweat given his recent arrest a few weeks ago.
Ruke Orhorhoro is a DT prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored a 9.92 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 15 out of 1808 DT from 1987 to 2024. https://t.co/siMT48fOVN pic.twitter.com/y4FDzd7eUQ

EDGE Rusher
This is a group I think the Broncos would like to add to as well and there are a lot of good prospects available. Chris Braswell, Gabriel Murphy, Bralen Trice, Austin Book, Marshawn Kneeland, Mohamed Kamara, Javon Solomon, and Adisa Isaac will all likely be picked on Day 2.
Linebacker
I’m not big on this year’s linebacker class, but Junior Colson would be a great pick if he was available. He is my top-rated inside linebacker. Texas A&M Standout Edgerrin Cooper would be worth a look too and NC State’s Payton Wilson is a good player, but comes with significant injury concerns.
Defensive Back
With the Las Vegas Raiders picking Brock Bowers and the Kansas City Chiefs snagging Xavier Worthy, perhaps the Broncos add to their secondary. There are a lot of great cornerbacks available.
Kool-Aid McKinstry, Cooper DeJean, Renardo Green, DJ James, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Mike Sainristill, and Kris Abrams-Draine could all go in the next 32 picks or so. Max Melton, T.J. Tampa, Caelen Carson, Kamari Lassiter and Andru Phillips are other highly-touted prospects to consider.
No safeties were taken in the first round, but guys like Tyler Nubin, Javon Bullard, Jaden Hicks, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, Cole Bishop and Kitan Oladapo would present good value for the Broncos at safety.
RENARDO GREEN is the most exciting day 2 prospect.
He is a pure press-man technician who put Malik Nabers in PRISON:
While guarding Nabers:
• 1 interception
• 0 TDs allowed
• 1 PBU
• 5 targets
• 2 catches for 20 yards allowed https://t.co/CCuaqwgHLj pic.twitter.com/pokZ3KSGS4— NFL Draft Files (@NFL_DF) April 19, 2024
