Could this be the Bengals tipping their hand as to which way they’d like the first round of the draft to go?

Ahead of the NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals hosted Notre Dame offensive tackle Blake Fisher for a pre-draft visit, according to IrishSportsDaily.com’s Matt Freeman.

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Fisher has been a full-time starter at right tackle in the past two seasons, earning PFF grades of 72.9 in 2022 and 71.1 in 2023. He briefly started at left tackle as a redshirt freshman in 2021 before suffering a meniscus injury, then returned to play right tackle at the end of the season and has been there ever since.

Fisher has also visited with the Commanders, Eagles, Panthers, Patriots, Steelers, 49ers, and Browns. He’s listed as the 11th-best offensive tackle in this year’s draft class, per Dane Brugler in The Beast, where he’s given a third-round grade.

This year’s offensive tackle draft class is very deep, and while the Bengals could take one of the several tackles available in the first round with the No. 18 overall pick, they could get a quality tackle if they wait to address the position on Friday in the second or third round. That’s where they could find Fisher available to them.

If the Bengals are selecting Fisher in that range, it likely means they’ve selected a defensive tackle like Byron Murphy II or Johnny Newton, a cornerback like Quinyon Mitchell, or possibly even Brock Bowers in the first round.

How would you feel about the Bengals passing on an offensive tackle in the first to select Fisher in the second or third?
