The Arizona Cardinals are adding a special teams ace to their deck.

The Arizona Cardinals have added some help on special teams, signing former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker and special teams ace, Markus Bailey.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed linebacker Markus Bailey to a one-year contract. The signing took place today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ.

Bailey (6-1, 235) played 60 games (four starts) over the past four seasons (2020-23) with Cincinnati and had 53 tackles, four passes defensed and a half sack in addition to 20 tackles on special teams. Last season, Bailey played all 17 games and his 309 special teams snaps were the second most on the Bengals. The 27-year old Bailey entered the league with Cincinnati in 2020 as a seventh-round selection (215th overall) in the NFL Draft from Purdue. He also appeared in seven playoff games with the Bengals and had three tackles on defense and five tackles on special teams.

With the special teams rule changes, you can see an emphasis being put on this part of the game.

Welcome aboard, Markus.
