Ansu Fati could have signed for Real Madrid!

On August 31, 2019, Ansu Fati made his first appearance with FC Barcelona’s A team. A meeting he will never forget since he scored and at the same time became the youngest scorer in the history of Barça in the Spanish league (16 years, 10 months and 4 days). The young Spaniard then saw his progress slowed down due to his numerous injuries which kept him away from the field for many months (between 2020 and 2022). This season, the Catalan striker is no longer injured and he is gradually regaining his level (3 goals and 3 assists in 14 La Liga games). Present at the World Cup with La Roja, Ansu Fati played very little (23 minutes against Japan and Morocco). The 20-year-old will therefore be in great shape for the resumption of the championship on December 31 (Barça faces Espanyol). In an interview given to France Soccer, the crack of FC Barcelona told a very nice anecdote about Lionel Messi. The left winger then spoke about his debut before signing for the Catalan club. He also says that he had tried out at Real Madrid!

“Before signing for Barça, I tried out for Real Madrid. At that time, the club did not have a residence to welcome its young players. After talking to my father, we therefore decided that Barça was the best option, with La Masia, for football, as for my education.”
