Evolution of Gaming
These games have come a long way since the early days of gaming and have been around on pretty much every console that has ever been. From simple 2D platformers to complex open-world adventures, the evolution of Batman games has been nothing short of impressive.
As an iconic character, these games have continued to push the boundaries of what is possible in gaming. The first Batman game was released in 1986 for the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, and other platforms. It was a simple side-scrolling game. It allowed players to control the caped crusader as he fought against iconic villains like The Joker and The Penguin.
As technology advanced, so did the games. The release of Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009 marked a turning point for the franchise. Since then, all of them have continued to innovate and improve upon the formula established by Arkham Asylum.
The latest instalment, Gotham Knights, is regarded as one of the best fighting games of the Batman franchise. Set in a world where Batman is dead, players will take control of other characters. These include Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin as they work together to protect Gotham City.
