Alex Anzalone knows Ford Field is going to be loud as heck with Detroit Lions fans, but he has a very specific request that could help them defeat the Los Angeles Rams.

It’s quite possible that Ford Field will be the loudest it has ever been on Sunday, as the Detroit Lions host the Los Angeles Rams in the first ever home playoff game for the franchise in this stadium. This year, Ford Field has been electric, and the opening Super Wild Card Weekend, no ticket in the playoffs is hotter than Detroit’s. It’s the place to be this weekend.

But for as loud as it has been, Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone—who has seen some rowdy crowds from his New Orleans days—has one request that could give Detroit an even bigger advantage against the Rams on Sunday night.

“Definitely be a little more rowdy than the regular season, (but) this is my personal request: get loud as the quarterback is getting in the huddle as opposed to after he breaks the huddle,” Anzalone said.

It’s a smart piece of advice, considering much of the important communication on offense happens during that huddle. Yet almost every fanbase waits until after the quarterback breaks from the huddle to get loud. Obviously, communication at the line of scrimmage is important, too, but if Lions fans can provide interference when Matthew Stafford is trying to convey both the play call and the snap count to the rest of his teammates, that could result in maximum impact from the home crowd.

So if you happen to be one of the lucky 65,000+ fans who are attending Ford Field on Sunday night, you know what to do now.
