Alcaraz points the three players to beat in Madrid, Rome and Roland Garros

Carlos Alcaraz demonstrated that he has clear ideas about who are the tennis players favorite for the final victory in the next important clay-court tournaments.

The young Spaniard, who has questioned his presence in Madrid in recent minutes, has mainly indicated three tennis players who can compete for the main titles still remaining.

“Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas are in excellent form and have reached the final in both Monte Carlo and Barcelona. I have confidence, this is the most important thing for me. Obviously then there is Jannik Sinner and other great players who can get you into trouble. They and Sinner are the players to beat on this surface,” he analyzed.

There are two main themes that Carlos Alcaraz talked about during the Media Day of the Mutua Madrid Open. Alcaraz questioned hsi partecipation in Madrid

In both events, the two-time Slam champion tried to train and then decided not to take the field so as not to worsen the situation. Things seem to be going better – at least according to what was reported by the local media – but Alcaraz did not want to go too far and questioned his participation in the Masters 1000 in Madrid, the tournament in which he defends the title.

“There are still several days left before my first match. Today I trained more intensely, things are going well and I have good feelings. But I don’t want to rush or take anything for granted, because I already did it in Barcelona and then what happened happened.

I can’t say I will play 100%. At this moment, with the sensations I felt this morning and my mentality, I would be satisfied with playing three or four games. It hurt me a lot not to be in Monte-Carlo and Barcelona, especially in the latter case: playing at home is special.

But I am a person who always tries to think positively and, when I announced that I would not participate in the Barcelona tournament, I immediately set to work to recover and be here in Madrid. I really want to get back on the court,” added the Spaniard.
