AEW Star Joey Janela Shoots Down Rumors That He Has COVID-19: “Never Did”

on

AEW star Joey Janela was pulled from last week’s episode of Dynamite on TNT due to being exposed to someone who had contracted COVID-19. He was set to face Kenny Omega in the opening round of the eight-man title tournament, but was instead replaced by tag team partner Sonny Kiss. Omega would still pick up the win in just under 20 seconds.

After much speculation that Janela had contracted the virus himself, the Bad Boy took to Twitter and released the following statement.

I don’t have Covid never did, I’m sure it tried to live rent free in me a few times and dipped out because my insides resemble a permanent crack den at the Red Roof Inn.

The weekend before Janela hosted his annual Joey Janela Spring Break 4 special as apart of the GCW Collective weekend, with the promotion announcing a small surge in COVID cases stemming from the weekend’s events. His opponent, AJ Gray, announced his positive COVID-19 test later in the week. See Janela’s tweet below.
