AEW ICYMI: Why Perry’s angry at Omega, Beretta happy he injured Best Friend

AEW’s X

AEW often posts a handful of promos on social media with wrestlers reflecting on matches and events in their respective storylines. Let’s highlight a few of those videos, in case you missed it. Jack Perry spoke about attacking Kenny Omega, Trent Beretta discussed his feelings about Chuck Taylor’s retirement, and Stokely Hathaway had weird praise for Willow Nightingale.

When the Elite pummeled Tony Khan, that was their way of putting AEW back on track. The Young Bucks proclaimed this as the best version of the Elite.

About the hit job on Kenny Omega, Jack Perry took out his anger on a helpless water bottle. Perry criticized Omega for failing to be the hero AEW needed. Jungle Man pointed the finger at Kenneth being a coward. The Elite will change the world without Omega. I don’t quite follow Perry’s logic about Omega’s cowardice and lack of heroism. AEW needs to flesh out that idea. I’m sure there is plenty of material to draw from, but it needs to be explained better.

Speaking of the Young Bucks, AEW is selling Micro Brawlers figurines of their bloodstained white suit days from the feud with Sting and Darby Allin. Love it!

As if a Parking Lot Fight wasn’t violent enough, Trent Beretta bashed Chuck Taylor’s ankle after the contest was over. He felt no sorrow for Chuck’s retirement due to injury. Trent accused the Best Friend of coasting and not having his head in the game for a long time, so he took Chuck out of the game. It’s Orange Cassidy’s turn next. Trent comically flipped the switch of his emotions to being a sweet young man upon exiting.

Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway offered kind words to Willow Nightingale as TBS champion. Stooley compared Willow to Mick Foley as a Teletubby. While the mystery of who attacked Mercedes Moné still looms, I can’t help but wonder if Statlander is purposely pushing Willow to be a fighting champion as an ulterior agenda.
